Fasting
O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed to those before you, so that you may learn self-restraint.Chapter 2, Verse 183 of the Holy Qur'an.
The holy month of Ramadan has begun for 1999.
The first day of fasting for North America started on December 1999.
This is the month of fasting and great blessings. It allows muslims to exercise self-restraint and deepen their awareness of Allah(God).

The month of Ramadan is the most holy month in the Islamic Calender.
The month of Ramadan culminates in the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, at the month's end.
This is a joyous occasion, where the followers congratulate each other for having a successful
month.
There is a night during the month of Ramadan known as the night of Power or Lailatul-Qadr.
This night is likened to 1000 months. It falls on either the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th night.
This is a very blessed night. After all, 1000 months is basically a lifetime (do the math).
